DreameBot L10S Ultra Vs. Narwal Freo (I tested both!)

Both of these brands sent me the vacuums and paid me to promote on my social media… but neither asked for a blog. So, this will be truly unbiased. I was sent the Dreame first, and I was blown away. But when I got the Narwal a few months later… which one is the best robot vacuum cleaner NOW?

Battery Life

Winner: Narwal Freo

This surprises me, because even though the Narwal vacuumed first and then mopped, it still had 80% charge after over an hour of running! I’ve noticed the Dreame seems to do my entire home and is nearing a low battery as it’s finishing. But, it’s never died while using it.

Price

Winner: Dreamebot

ALWAYS check the Amazon listing for coupons! The prices vary hour to hour. As of the day I’m writing this blog, the Dreame is $899 with a $200 coupon, and the Narwal is $1,200 with a $320 coupon. From what I can tell, the Narwal is typically pricier.

Noise Level

Winner: Narwal… by far.

My jaw DROPPED when I heard the Narwal for the first time. After months of only running the Dreamebot while we weren’t home (because it was so loud). The Narwal is nearly silent when moving but not cleaning. Mopping is nearly silent, and vacuuming/the combo is noticeable, but not annoying or on

Mopping Capabilities

Winner: Narwal

In terms of literal cleaning abilities— they both do a great job mopping and leave my floor shining. I only chose Narwal on this one, because I noticed the mop pads clean up better and overall I noticed less of an odor. The dirty water (and even fresh water) from the Dreame would start to smell bad. If I didn’t catch it in time, it would mop the house with smelly water.

Vacuuming Capabilities

Winner: TIE

They truly both do a great job vacuuming. However, the Dreamebot sucks the dirt out of the bot and into the docking station, which means less emptying (but more noise when it’s self emptying).

Overall Mapping/ Cleaning Strategy

Winner: Hard to say…

This is where it gets complicated… both vacuums map your home and clean accordingly. However, the Dreame works in lines and moves across your home. You can see the progress and you know what it’s done so far.

The Narwal, however, really strategizes. It starts from the base, may go across your house to see if a door is open, come back to the beginning, and move to the dining room randomly. SO, if you let it do its full session, it would clean the whole house. Personally, I always end up sending it back before it’s done.

If you always let it run until it’s done, they’ll both work for you. If you frequently interrupt it or want to manually move it to a different area without it freaking out and going right back where it was, go with the Dreame.

Also, the Dreame always mops and vacuums at the same time (my preference). But the Narwal has the option to do only one at a time if you prefer.

Docking Station

Winner: Narwal Freo

Both stations are modern, sleek, and white. However, the Narwal has a cool touch screen that allows you to select the mode. It also tucks the bot inside. The Dreamebot vacuum, however, sticks halfway out. If it matters to you, the Narwal station is shorter but wider, while the Dreamebot station is taller but skinnier.

Did I mention the Narwal holds nearly twice the amount of dirty AND clean water?

Self-Cleaning Functions

Winner: TIE

The Narwal would be better if it self-emptied the dirt into the docking station.

The DreameBot would be better if the water stayed fresh longer than a few days (and the mop pads didn’t get an odor as a result).

You can decide which is a bigger drawback.

Apps

Winner: Dreame

Maybe I just haven’t spent enough time on the Narwal app, but the Dreame app is just very simple. I do struggle to figure out the Narwal app and settings.

Avoiding Obstacles and Climbing Hurdles

Winner: Dreame… by far!

Both would occasionally have issues. I noticed my Narwal has bigger issues with cords, clothing, blankets, rubber bands, etc. But it never gets stuck on our floor dividers or rug. The Dreame, however, would occasionally hit the edge of a rug just right to make its mop pad pop off. I don’t think my Dreame has ever gotten stuck. If you have a less cluttered home than I do, perhaps it won’t bother you either way.

OVERALL WINNER: I honestly can’t say.

Both robot vacuum and mopping cleaners are incredible. You need to decide which features are most important to you. They both do a fabulous job of cleaning.

If you desire a quieter robot vacuum/mopping machine, the Narwal Freo is the way to go. If you don’t want to fill up the clean water as often and want to avoid mildew smells, go for the Narwal.

If you want to spend less time figuring out an app and untangling cords, the Dreame is for you. If you want the dirt to self-empty and be able to really see the progress it’s making, choose the Dreame.
